Verder Scientific to host AM qualification forum at UC Irvine

Verder Scientific, Haan, Germany, has announced that it will organise a one-day industry forum focused on qualification in Additive Manufacturing at the Advanced Casting Research Center (ACRC), UC Irvine, California, USA, on October 15, 2026. The programme will cover quality, testing and part qualification, from IQ/OQ methodology through to in-field validation of additively manufactured components.
The morning programme will comprise two panel discussions: the first covering qualification in aerospace and automotive, and the second covering material characterisation and manufacturing processes in Additive Manufacturing. The forum will be moderated by Diran Apelian, Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at UC Irvine.
Panellists include representatives from GE Aerospace, Blue Origin, Mimo Technik, QuesTek Innovations, ASTRO, Additive Plus, and CSU Long Beach.

An afternoon hands-on workshop will include demonstrations of Microtrac CAMSIZER and SYNC particle analysis systems, the 3DCeram MAT machine and an ATO Lab ultrasonic atomiser. Spectro and Verder Scientific will also provide equipment demonstrations and practical inspection and validation sessions.
The event will run from 08:00–18:30 and conclude with an evening networking session. It is organised by Verder Scientific, hosted by UC Irvine’s Advanced Casting Research Center and sponsored by Spectro and Additive Plus. Pre-registration is required and walk-in attendance will not be available.
