Freemelt AB, based in Mölndal, Sweden, has received an additional order for a Freemelt ONE Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) Additive Manufacturing machine from North Carolina State University’s Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics (CAMAL) in Raleigh, USA.

This latest order follows the recent collaboration, which saw the establishment of a joint Application Center aimed at supporting industrial customers with development projects targeting serial production using Freemelt’s industrial machine, eMELT.

The new order is CAMAL’s second purchase of a Freemelt ONE machine, following the initial delivery in 2023. The agreement also includes an option to upgrade to an eMELT industrial machine during 2026.

The collaboration with CAMAL is said to be strategically important for Freemelt’s commercialisation efforts in the US market. The new AM machine will be used for advanced materials research and application development of new critical materials.
