May 16, 2023

Xact Metal, State College, Pennsylvania, USA, has announced that it has received its 100th Additive Manufacturing machine order, which the company has marked as a significant milestone in its growth. This follows on from the successful launch of the XM200G in 2021, the company’s second metal AM machine which has significantly expanded the company’s reach and customer base.
With single- or dual-laser options, the XM200G is reported to offer metal Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) at industrial speed and performance, at a more affordable price point. The machine is based on the design of the Xact Metal XM200C metal AM machine, but uses a high-performance galvanometer system. This new architecture allows faster manufacturing times and supports multiple lasers.
Xact Metal credits its success to a dedicated sales network, which provides local sales and service support to customers in over fifty countries. Alongside its growing product line, the company has expanded into new industries.
“Our success in reaching this milestone is a testament to the hard work and commitment by the Xact Metal team and our global network of sales partners, who share our passion for expanding access to this technology while providing the best possible experience for our customers,” stated Juan Mario Gomez, CEO of the company. “We’ve been able to realise our original hypothesis, which was that metal 3D printing has a significant place in the future of manufacturing for small-to-medium sized companies when there is an avenue for increased adoption. By designing Xact Metal products for ease of use, accessibility, and affordability, we have provided the opportunity for adoption to over 100 customers and counting.”
Xact Metal continues to develop new products, expand software offerings, and grow its team. The company’s metal Additive Manufacturing solutions are said to offer fast installation, configurability to the user’s specific needs, and intuitive software & hardware. Customers will also receive an open material parameters strategy, local support through an international sales partner network, and access to Materialise and Oqton part preparation software.
