Designed for use with the HP Metal Jet S100 Binder Jetting (BJT) AM series, the vPort combines parts cleaning, powder recovery and powder refilling within a single unit. The system operates as a fully enclosed workstation, with all processes conducted via an integrated glove box to enable operator protection and minimise the risk of contamination.
During operation, excess metal powder is removed from the build unit, transferred, sieved and prepared for reuse as part of a controlled workflow. A single operator docks the HP build unit to the system, accesses the components via the glove box, and removes residual powder using a vacuum nozzle followed by compressed air cleaning.
Once parts are cleaned, the build unit is emptied, cleaned and refilled using powder from an integrated supply hopper. Recovered powder is sieved and returned to the process for reuse.
The vPort is positioned as an entry-level alternative to HP’s fully automated powder handling solution. It is currently available in the USA, Canada and Europe through Volkmann. Technical service, support and spare parts are also provided by the company.
