VBN Components, Uppsala, Sweden, has announced that it is involved in three master’s theses, scheduled for spring 2025.

According to the company, two of the projects will focus on a new type of ballistic projection, utilising Additive Manufacturing. These studies, supervised by Ulrik Beste and Julia Sjöström, are connected to a recently awarded project supported by Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova) and the Swedish Department of Defence.

The third thesis is an investigation of wear behaviour and mechanical properties of additively manufactured high-speed steel, involving methods like tribological scratch testing, nanoindentation and scanning electron microscope (SEM) imaging. This study is done at Uppsala University under the supervision of Saad Khalid and Urban Wiklund.
