TP Tools OY, a family-owned business based in Nokia, Finland, has announced the acquisition of AddUp’s FormUp 350 Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine. This strategic move aims is intended to make TP Tools a leader in producing tyre sipes, a crucial part of tyre mould manufacturing.

TP Tools’ decision to bring tyre sipe production in-house is aimed at reducing costs associated with outsourcing. By streamlining the manufacturing process, the company saves on expenses as well as shortening lead times, enhancing overall operational efficiency. With the acquisition of FormUp 350, the company aims to gain greater control over the production process.
