Throughput Consulting releases powder inventory tracking module

January 14, 2022

Manufacturing Execution and Quality Management System software provider Throughput Consulting Inc, Delafield, Wisconsin, USA, has released a new inventory tracking module to complement its existing modular suite of over twenty-five products for Additive Manufacturing efficiency and management.

The Bluestreak I Bright AM™ Powder Inventory Tracking Module is said to be able to maintain full genealogy powder control from ‘virgin powder’ to the reclamation of AM powders after a build is complete, or the mixing of powder in R&D.

“To guarantee quality and reliability of 3D printed final products, our customers must ensure purity and consistency of powder and its reuse throughout entire AM production,” stated Todd Wenzel, president of Throughput Consulting. “There are numerous physical powder changes that can occur during processes such as particle contamination and deterioration. Most likely that material is now ‘out of spec’, and will compromise the integrity of the final product. This is especially important in the production of aviation, medical or automotive parts that must pass stringent industry specifications and audits.”

The Bright AM suite is designed exclusively for the AM environment, where the primary focus is quality processing and operations control. The suite can be customised to mirror unique business workflows.
