Nikon SLM Solutions, Lübeck, Germany, has announced a new channel partnership with Sixpenny Additive Inc., Toronto, Canada, expanding its presence in Canada while providing manufacturers with local commercial and technical expertise to support the adoption of production-scale metal Additive Manufacturing.

Together, Nikon SLM Solutions and Sixpenny Additive will support manufacturers in identifying high-value applications, implementing Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) technology and scaling qualified production. From conformal cooling for tooling to complex aerospace and energy components, the partnership is focused on helping customers unlock measurable manufacturing advantages.

“Successful adoption of metal Additive Manufacturing requires more than industry-leading technology—it requires trusted local expertise,” said Garett Purdon, VP of Sales, Americas at Nikon SLM Solutions. “Sixpenny Additive understands the Canadian manufacturing landscape, and together we’ll help manufacturers confidently move from evaluating Additive Manufacturing to deploying production-ready applications.”

David Nolan, President of Sixpenny Additive, shared, “Partnering with Nikon SLM Solutions marks a major step forward for Sixpenny Additive as we expand our ability to deliver world-class metal Additive Manufacturing solutions to the Canadian market.”

“Nikon SLM Solutions has established itself as a technology leader with industrial platforms and a customer service philosophy that closely aligns with our own: a commitment to delighting the customer at every stage. Together, we’re excited to help Canadian manufacturers realise the full potential of metal Additive Manufacturing,” Nolan added.

The partnership is intended to provide Canadian manufacturers with direct access to Nikon SLM Solutions’ portfolio of industrial metal AM systems, global applications expertise and comprehensive service organisation, supported locally by Sixpenny Additive’s knowledge of the Canadian manufacturing ecosystem.
