Monotech Systems launches Markforged FX10 metal and composite AM machine in India

Monotech Systems Ltd, based in Chennai, India, introduced the FX10 Additive Manufacturing machine from Markforged at an event in December 2024 attended by industry leaders from various sectors and several dignitaries.
“The launch of FX10 is a significant milestone for the country’s manufacturing sector and Global Capability Centres,” said Gaurav Sarda, Regional Head – East Coast Region, Emerging Corporate Group, HDFC Bank Ltd. He highlighted Monotech’s R&D facility in Ambattur, Chennai, as a testament to their commitment to innovation.
The Markforged FX10 features a modular build system that enables users to easily switch between metal and composite build engines. With build volume of 375 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm, the FX10 is designed to enhance manufacturing productivity by producing strong and accurate tools and fixtures.
The FX10 includes advanced printhead-mounted optical sensors for verifying dimensional accuracy and assessing device health, as well as automatic calibration and material changeover capabilities. The AM machine supports various materials, including 17-4PH and 316L stainless steels.
India’s manufacturing potential
The event commenced with introductions by Rajesh Mrithyunjayan, VP – 3D Products and Solutions at 3D Monotech, and Prashant Sinha, Markforged Country Manager, India, highlighting the collaborative strength between Monotech Systems and Markforged.
This was followed by talks from 3D Monotech and Markforged, including Richard Elving, VP Sales in the APAC region for Markforged, who emphasised India’s position as an attractive manufacturing hub. “India is at the forefront of manufacturing as the world looks at alternative manufacturing hubs,” Elving stated.
Tej Prakash Jain, Managing Director of Monotech Systems Ltd., reflected on the company’s journey since 1999, growing from a six-person team to a 600-strong workforce. “Our growth parallels India’s expanding manufacturing capabilities, and the launch of FX10 marks another significant step in this evolution,” Prakash Jain shared.
Prashant Sinha showcased the features and benefits of the FX10 Additive Manufacturing machine and highlighted successful implementations of various Markforged Additive Manufacturing machines across multiple sectors, including aerospace, marine, energy, research laboratories, and drones. This demonstration emphasised the technology’s diverse applications across a range of industries.
