MMB Volum-e, based in Blangy-sur-Bresle, France, has signed a three-year contract with amsight GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, to roll out its data-driven quality management software across its metal Additive Manufacturing operations.

“After a thorough evaluation period, we selected amsight as our long-term software partner because of the company’s ability to provide end-to-end traceability and structured, data-driven quality evidence across our complete AM process chain, a critical requirement for space applications,” says Eric Baustert, Innovation Director at MMB Volum-e. “Having our powder, process, and inspection data in one place gives us a much stronger basis for qualification, audits, and continuous improvement.”

amsight is now fully live and in use at MMB Volum-e, covering the complete metal AM process chain, from raw material and machine data to post-processing and final inspection. The implementation specifically supports MMB Volum-e’s fleet of ten metal Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machines from EOS, in an effort to achieve consistent and scalable quality management across multiple systems.

Rather than relying on spreadsheets and scattered log files, the company now has access to structured, searchable data. By having this data in one software, MMB Volum-e expects to gain full transparency over its Additive Manufacturing processes and be able to demonstrate part conformity against demanding customer and space-industry specifications.

The implementation is said to support MMB Volum-e’s strategic focus on the space and highly-regulated industries, where stringent documentation, reproducibility, and traceability requirements are essential. Through amsight, MMB Volum-e is able to offer:

  • End-to-end traceability from raw material to final inspection
  • Efficient proof of part conformity against customer and regulatory specifications
  • Monitored stability over time via statistical process control (SPC)
  • Structured root-cause analysis when deviations occur

Rather than focusing primarily on production scaling, the software is used to deepen process understanding and stability, strengthen confidence in metal AM for highly critical applications, and reduce the manual effort traditionally associated with preparing audit-ready quality documentation.

“This long-term agreement reflects a high level of trust and a shared understanding of how data-driven quality management is essential for Additive Manufacturing in regulated industries,” stated Tim Wischeropp, CEO & co-founder of amsight. “Together with MMB Volum-e, we are building a robust foundation for traceability, compliance, and continuous process improvement in space-grade AM, without the complexity of a large MES or ERP project.”
