The laser-based Directed Energy Deposition (DED) AM machine comes equipped with a built-in Clogged Vibration Method (CVM) powder feeding system, providing a stable powder feed rate and broad feeding rate range.
The University’s machine has a five-hopper powder feeding system, enabling precise control over material composition, ideal for gradient materials and advanced alloy development. It also includes software that enables the production of alloy specimens without the need for complex CAD tools.
Among its first projects is the university’s work within the DFG Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 270, with a focus on magnetic materials.
