Hannover Messe 2020, organised by Deutsche Messe, is set to take place in Hannover, Germany, from April 20–24, 2020. The organisers report that the event’s lead theme this year will be ‘Industrial Transformation’; highlighting how the global industrial sector is in a state of change, primarily due to digitisation, individualisation and climate protection.

The industrial technology trade fair will explore the new challenges that industrial sector customers are facing compared to only a few years ago, requiring the R&D sector and providers of production, logistics and energy supply technology to adapt. The aim is to take control and shape this transformation process, which means investment in areas like Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0, artificial intelligence, 5G, CO2-neutral production, lightweight design and electric drive technology.

“The world is embarking on a period of change, the likes of which we haven’t seen for a long time,” stated Dr Jochen Köckler, Deutsche Messe Managing Board Chairman. “And that makes Hannover Messe more important than ever – because it is the only trade show to accord the industrial transformation process, the holistic and ongoing focus that it warrants.”

Hannover Messe will feature comprehensive coverage of key areas including:

  • The development of tomorrow’s digital industry
  • Ideas for the factory of the future
  • Flexible and modular development and production
  • Making the energy transition in industry and logistics

The four-day event is expected to feature 6,000 exhibitors. Köckler added, “The entire industrial sector is represented at Hannover Messe, so visitors can experience end-to-end production and supply processes, from product development to production, plus everything they need for new, data-driven business models. This integrated focus is important, because the transition to smart factories will not be possible without close integration of production and logistics.”

Further information and registration details are available via the event website.
