iAM3D unveils large-format LPW Z2500 metal AM machine

iAM3D, based in Sriperumbudur Taluk, India, has launched the LPW Z2500, a large-format laser Directed Energy Deposition (DED) multi-axis Additive Manufacturing machine designed for space-tech, aerospace, defence, oil & gas, heavy engineering and research applications.

The new machine supports both powder-fed and wire-fed laser DED, which is intended to enable high-resolution builds, ultra-high deposition rates and flexible material strategies within a single machine. The integrated BEAM SWITCH offers instant changeover.

The LPW Z2500 features a 2000 × 2000 × 2500 mm build envelope and a fully enclosed argon chamber architecture designed for reactive and aerospace-grade alloys including titanium, Inconel, tantalum, and refractory materials. A high-power fibre laser architecture, combined with optimised material delivery systems, delivers rapid deposition rates for large-part manufacturing and heavy-industry applications.
The LPW Z2500 also features an integrated monitoring suite with HDR melt-pool imaging, pyrometer feedback, and live process diagnostics for stable deposition and repeatable metallurgical quality. Additionally, the machine incorporates Machine Learning Software & Process Library for rapid prototype development.
iAM3D claims that any metal AM alloy available in powder or wire form can be processed, with a primary focus on titanium, nickel, and refractory alloys for demanding applications.
