Highlights of Formnext + PM South China 2020 showcased following successful Shenzhen International MIM and AM Summit

With support from China’s government, and the growing demand for smart manufacturing technologies, Additive Manufacturing and Powder Metallurgy are said to hold great potential in China. As a prelude to the inaugural Formnext + PM South China exhibition, taking place September 9–11, 2020, the Shenzhen International MIM & Additive Manufacturing Technology Summit was held on September 26, 2019.

The summit was arranged by the organisers of Formnext + PM South China, along with the China Powder Metallurgy Alliance (CPMA). There were over 350 attendees present for the twelve presentations and two round table meetings. Attendees included domestic and international industry leaders and manufacturing experts who shared their experiences and visions on some of the most innovative applications and solutions for Additive Manufacturing, Powder Metallurgy and advanced ceramics.

According to the organisers, the summit was held to identify the technical needs during the production process for the automobile, home appliance and communication industries, while facilitating the development and popularity of AM technologies and advanced materials in the Chinese market.

The summit was widely supported by a number of leading companies who attended the event, including ABB Engineering, EVA, FAW-Volkswagen, FIYTA, Flex, Foxconn, Geely Auto, GREE, Haojue, Honda, Jabil Circuit, Jabil Green point, Liangying Electronics, Midea, Nissan, Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing, SIIX Electronics, TK Group, Unipres, vivo and more.

Held alongside the summit was a Formnext + PM South China press conference, during which Louis Leung, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, and Xiuping Han, Board Member of Uniris Exhibition Shanghai Co Ltd, both expressed confidence that the event will be beneficial to all players within the AM and PM industry. Additionally, Petra Haarburger, President of Mesago, and Sascha F Wenzler, Vice President and responsible for Formnext, also conveyed their enthusiasm and expectations about the trade show.

Organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, and Uniris Exhibition Shanghai Co Ltd, the three-day Formnext + PM South China trade fair will showcase the latest offerings in the Additive Manufacturing and Powder Metallurgy industry.
