Freemelt AB, based in Mölndal, Sweden, has received an order from a customer in the United Kingdom to validate Freemelt’s Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) technology for the production of additively manufactured tungsten parts.

The customer is a leader in research and innovation across various fields, including nuclear energy, sustainable materials, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Through research and industrial collaborations, the customer focuses on advancing metal manufacturing techniques, including powder processing and Additive Manufacturing, working towards a positive global impact.

Freemelt’s CEO Daniel Gidlund commented, “Thanks to our successful progress in printing tungsten and collaborations with customers like UKAEA (United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority), it is rewarding that another customer in the United Kingdom has decided to validate Freemelt’s [PBF-EB] technology for tungsten manufacturing. This order further strengthens our position within the UK Additive Manufacturing community, particularly in tungsten applications. It also underscores the unique capabilities of our technology to efficiently process challenging materials with the highest material quality.”
