Fastech appoints Jason Hutt to lead UK and European expansion

Fastech, headquartered in Danville, Virginia, USA, has appointed Jason Hutt as Director of UK and International Business Development, reflecting both recent achievements and its long-term growth strategy beyond the US.
Over the past year, the company successfully executed the Ready for Action programme, marking a major milestone. The company states that the programme demonstrated that advanced Additive Manufacturing can be deployed reliably at production scale, proving Fastech’s ability to deliver repeatable, qualified components under real operational demands.
Hutt’s appointment is said to be a response to the momentum that resulted from the Ready for Action programme, ensuring that customers across the UK and Europe can access Fastech’s capabilities through a dedicated, experienced point of contact while remaining fully supported by the company’s established US operations.
In the UK, the initial focus is on Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Additive Manufacturing using blue laser technology, with capability already accessible via Fastech’s US facilities while local infrastructure is developed. This phased approach allows customers to begin projects immediately, benefiting from mature processes and delivery experience, while regional capacity is established to support long-term programmes.
Alongside this, Fastech is actively developing new partnerships to support its European growth. Work is underway with Meltio in Europe, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting the industrial adoption of Additive Manufacturing and deploying it where it delivers measurable value. Details will be confirmed in due course. The intention is to strengthen capability, deepen collaboration and ensure customers benefit from robust, production-focused solutions rather than experimental offerings.
Hutt’s role is central to shaping this next phase. With more than 35 years of engineering experience across defence, aerospace and power, his focus is on building capability the right way, step by step, working closely with industry primes, Catapult centres and key associations. By translating Fastech’s US experience into scalable international programmes, he will help ensure that Additive Manufacturing is applied where it makes commercial and operational sense.
As demand grows and new capabilities come online, Fastech’s UK and European presence is expected to play an increasing role in supporting customers with complex manufacturing requirements.
