Ecoparts expands capacity with IMPACT 4530 Additive Manufacturing machine

Ecoparts AG, headquartered in Hinwil, Switzerland, has acquired an IMPACT 4530 metal Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine from IRPD, a member of the United Grinding Group based in St Gallen, Switzerland. The new machine will expand Ecoparts’ manufacturing capabilities, enabling the production of larger components and series production of parts.

The IMPACT 4530 was launched in 2024 and includes a build volume of 450 × 300 × 400 mm and four 1000 W fibre lasers. The modular powder and build container system allows for rapid material and job changes. A closed, vacuum-capable process chamber protects the powder and parts from contamination – ideal for high-quality metal components.

“With Ecoparts as the market leader in the service sector, we have found the ideal partner,” stated Stefan Lang, CEO of IRPD. “Together, we will continue to develop the system and adapt it to market needs.”
The IMPACT 4530 was developed and built in Switzerland and Ecoparts is reported to be actively involved in its further development. The new machine is expected to be operational and productive by mid-October 2025.

CEO of Ecoparts, Denis Forster, added, “The IMPACT gives us the ability to achieve very high productivity and manufacture parts in a wide variety of alloys.”
