Draghici Dental boosts efficiency with Chamlion’s metal Additive Manufacturing solutions
August 23, 2024
Draghici Dental, a dental laboratory based in Iasi, Romania, is reported to have installed a number of metal Additive Manufacturing machines from Chamlion, headquartered in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. As a leading provider of dental services in the region, Draghici Dental made the decision to adopt Additive Manufacturing driven by the need for high precision, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Chamlion’s AM machines were chosen for the ability to produce RPD frameworks, crowns, and bridges with exceptional accuracy. The company’s dual laser NCL-M150 metal AM machine has a build volume of Φ150 x 75 mm, uses 300 W fibre lasers and can process a range of materials including titanium, titanium alloy, cobalt chromium alloys, stainless steel and high temperature alloys.
The Chamlion Additive Manufacturing solutions introduced automation and digitalisation to streamline production processes, reducing manual labour and speeding up turnaround times. Draghici Dental was able to better utilise its production capacity, as it previously operated at just 30%. This efficiency also led to significant reductions in operational costs, with minimised waste and optimised resource use.
The benefits were said to extend beyond just operational improvements, with Draghici Dental using Chamlion’s AM machines to provide a crucial competitive advantage.
“Developing the collaboration with Chamlion gives the company a competitive advantage in the market,” reported the company. “The technologies recommended by Chamlion enable product and service innovations and offer opportunities for differentiation from competitors, which is a big plus for our laboratory. And for this, we are grateful.”
