The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 2025 Alloys for Additive Manufacturing Symposium (AAMS) is approaching. The event, co-organised by EPFL and Empa, will take place on the Neuchâtel campus (Microcity) of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, September 3-5, 2025.
The symposium will cover the materials science behind Additive Manufacturing for metals and composite materials with metallic phases. The organisers are inviting contributions from experimental, theoretical, and computational researchers to explore topics such as feedstock creation and characterisation, degradation mechanisms in AM processing, in-process alloying and in situ microstructure characterisation, as well as post-processing techniques and resulting material properties. Research on optimising existing alloys for AM and the innovative design of tailor-made alloys suited to AM processes are particularly encouraged.

- Development of new and customised alloys for AM.
- Exploration of novel AM methods, including multimaterial approaches and hybrid processes.

AAMS is a forum for academics and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements and identify future research directions. The event will place special emphasis on supporting young researchers and offering them valuable networking opportunities within the AM community.
