Carbolite, based in Hope, United Kingdom, has announced the launch of AriesPlus, a touchscreen temperature controller for use in laboratory and industrial heating applications. The system is designed to offer enhanced precision, reliability and control.

At the heart of AriesPlus is its robust programmable control, specifically designed to address the complex requirements of modern laboratories and industrial operations. Each controller is intended to enable users to construct programmes with up to ninety-nine segments, which can be configured as ramp, step, or dwell. This allows users to precisely tailor temperature profiles for even the most complex thermal processes. The touchscreen interface guides users step by step, making it easier and faster to set up, adjust, and save programmes than older systems.

In addition, AriesPlus can store up to fifty unique programme profiles, streamlining workflow and ensuring that frequently used protocols can be retrieved and executed quickly via the interface. This level of programmability not only enhances repeatability but also reduces setup time.

The 18 cm touchscreen interface provides quick access to a comprehensive menu for selecting, editing, and scheduling programs. Users can schedule programmes to run at specific times and dates, supporting efficient laboratory planning and enabling unattended operation when necessary.

Data integrity and traceability are central to modern laboratory and industrial standards. AriesPlus addresses these needs with robust data logging capabilities. All temperature setpoints and actual values are securely stored within the controller’s internal memory, helping to ensure key process data is retained. Data can be conveniently downloaded via a front-panel USB port.

Safety and process security are paramount in all laboratory and industrial settings. AriesPlus incorporates user-level security, ensuring that only authorised personnel can access or modify critical settings. For applications that demand additional safety measures, an optional integrated over-temperature protection system is available. This system delivers clear alarm indications, essential for unattended or overnight operations, and provides additional assurance when handling valuable or sensitive loads.

With advanced ThermoTune technology, AriesPlus reportedly delivers both temperature precision and stability. The controller’s high-quality PID (proportional- integral-derivative) control ensures adherence to ramp rates and setpoint temperatures, minimising overshoot and undershoot.
