Xi’an Bright Laser Technologies Co., Ltd (BLT), based in Xi’an, China, is set to debut its upgraded BLT-S450 metal Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine at Formnext 2024.

The upgraded BLT-S450 has a 450 mm x 450 mm x 500 mm build size, 4, 6 or 8 500W lasers and an automated powder circulation system for efficient powder recovery. It also features single-blade bidirectional dynamic powder spreading and standard long-life filters with a lifespan of over three years.

At Formnext, the BLT booth will also showcase a selection of over 40 additively manufactured industrial parts, ranging from a satellite array panel measuring approximately 1 x 1 m to small threaded stainless steel components.

BLT will also showcase a number of new and innovative applications for humanoid robots, exploring ways to optimise parts through metal Additive Manufacturing. Produced by BLT, parts like shoulder brackets, sternums, and finger joints have been topologically optimised to integrate multiple parts into single components. This approach reduces weight and makes many assembly steps redundant while meeting tough strength requirements.

Additionally, visitors at the BLT stand can also see optimised industrial parts, like valves and screws, with redesigned features to reduce weight and improve performance.
