Bright Laser Technologies (BLT), Xi’an, China, has launched its large-format BLT-S1000 Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine. The machine has a large 1200 x 600 x 1500 mm build chamber and is equipped with eight 500 W lasers as standard, though can be upgraded to twelve lasers enabling it reach speeds of 300 cm3/h.

BLT offers a range of metal Additive Manufacturing machines, suitable for a wide range of applications. The company was founded in 2011 and today is a leading metal AM solution provider in China. BLT currently employs over 1,100 employees, with around 30% of the workforce engaged in R&D.

In addition to metal AM machine production, BLT manufactures titanium and titanium alloy powder. Aimed at the aerospace, medical, chemical industries, etc, the material is available as pure titanium powder and Ti-6Al-4V. The company also has a supply agreement with Praxair Surface Technologies, making the Truform range of metal powders available to its customers in mainland China. These include stainless steel, superalloy, aluminium alloy and tool steel.

BLT also offers a part production service, with customers said to include Airbus. The company is reported to have capacity to produce over 50,000 parts annually.
