Hexagon completes $1.45 billion acquisition of Waygate Technologies

Hexagon AB, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, has completed the acquisition of Waygate Technologies, Hürth, Germany, from Baker Hughes. The transaction was valued at approximately $1.45 billion.
Waygate Technologies, a specialist in non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, has around 1,500 employees across 25 locations and generated roughly $630 million in revenue during 2025. It is now part of Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence Business Area.

Industrial CT, dimensional metrology and other NDT technologies are used to assess the integrity of additively manufactured and Powder Metallurgy components, including the detection of internal defects and dimensional verification.
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence provides coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), portable measuring devices and scanners, and metrology software, while Waygate Technologies’ expertise lies in industrial computed tomography (CT), field radiography, ultrasonic testing (UT) solutions and remote visual inspection (RVI).
The two companies already serve many of the same industries, including aerospace, automotive, electronics, battery manufacturing and energy.

“Our customers have always told us that quality depends on understanding a part from the external geometry right through to the internal characteristics,” said Michael Bellamy, CEO of Waygate Technologies. “Together with Hexagon, we can offer a holistic suite of measurement and inspection solutions that drive greater value for customers. Our customers can continue to rely on their familiar products, services and contacts. Ongoing projects, services agreements and orders continue without interruption.”
“Waygate Technologies’ expertise in non-destructive testing extends our precision measurement portfolio from the surface to the interior of a component,” added Andreas Renulf, President of Manufacturing Intelligence at Hexagon. “We are proud to welcome our new colleagues. Together, we will help customers in aerospace, automotive, electronics and many other industries achieve higher quality and greater confidence across the product lifecycle.”
