Jiangsu Global Laser Box Digital Technology (Global Laser Box), headquartered in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, China, is set to establish a metal Additive Manufacturing equipment research and production base in Changsha, Hunan Province. According to a report by Hunan Daily, citing the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone’s Investment Promotion Bureau, an agreement for the project has been signed and is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027.

The company has reportedly leased approximately 5,000 m² of space within the development zone. The facility will focus on the research and production of Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) equipment, alongside laser development and manufacturing and metal AM production services.

A subsequent report published by Nanjixiong stated that Hunan Global Laser Box Digital Technology held a commencement ceremony for the facility on October 27. According to the report, the site will accommodate two product lines: one for large-format industrial metal AM machines with metre-scale build areas, and another for the volume production of AI-assisted desktop metal AM machines aimed at private users, small workshops and educational institutions.

The facility is also intended to provide process development, prototyping and validation services, including research into new materials and manufacturing processes. According to Nanjixiong, the company expects the site to improve its capacity to serve customers across central and southwestern China, while supporting collaboration with local universities and research institutions.

Global Laser Box develops industrial PBF-LB equipment and associated software for applications including consumer electronics, tooling, medical devices, aerospace, automotive and robotics. According to Hunan Daily, the company’s products have been sold in more than sixty countries.

The expansion follows the company’s completion of a Series A financing round worth nearly RMB 200 million (approximately $30 million) in September 2026. Global Laser Box stated that the funding would support further development of its metal AM equipment and software, expansion of production capacity and international sales activities.
