Grenzebach Group, headquartered in Hamlar, Germany, has announced a company restructuring, with the establishment of both Additive Manufacturing and Friction Stir Welding business units as independent companies effective January 1, 2026. The move is intended to strengthen two of the company’s strategic growth areas and increase flexibility in responding to market and customer requirements.

According to Steven Althaus, CEO of the Grenzebach Group, both business areas have demonstrated strong momentum in recent years. “Both areas have proven their growth potential over the past year,” he explained. “Additive Manufacturing recorded growth of almost 20%, and Friction Stir Welding successfully continued its strong performance of previous years. With the new organisational structure, we are creating the foundation to expand this momentum further and support our customers even more effectively.”

The two new entities will operate as Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH and Grenzebach Friction Stir Welding GmbH. Both companies will remain organisationally under the umbrella of Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH, the headquarters of the Grenzebach Group.

Grenzebach stated that the independent structure will enable both business units to further develop their technological expertise, accelerate decision-making processes, and tailor their offerings more closely to the needs of their respective markets.

The reorganisation will not affect the company’s existing sites or personnel structure. Both companies will continue to operate from Hamlar, Germany, with the current teams remaining in place.

Design, development and production activities for both business areas will continue to be carried out at the Hamlar site, which will remain the central hub for the company’s Additive Manufacturing and Friction Stir Welding activities.
