Scrap Labs, based in Boulder, Colorado, USA, has debuted Scrap 1, its compact Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) metal Additive Manufacturing machine, at the Rocky Mountain RepRap Festival held April 18–19, 2026, in Loveland, Colorado.

“RMRRF was the right place to show Scrap 1 because the people there understand why access matters,” said Matt Woods, founder and CEO of Scrap Labs. “We are building this for the people who want metal printing in their own shops, labs, and small production spaces without needing a six-figure machine to get started.”

Scrap 1 is designed as a compact PBF-LB platform for real metal parts, with a 100 × 100 × 100 mm build volume, a 200 W, 915 nm laser, browser-based machine control, and compatibility across ScrapSlicer, PrusaSlicer, and OrcaSlicer workflows.

Following the debut, Scrap Labs is continuing development, validation, and early-access planning for Scrap 1. The company is accepting reservations and inquiries from customers, partners, and technical users interested in the platform. Limited-time launch pricing includes kits starting at $9,600 and fully assembled early-bird systems starting at $12,990, with standard assembled pricing listed at $17,990, states the company.
