MetalWorm to deliver fully integrated robotic WAAM to Brazil’s IFMA

MetalWorm, based in Ankara, Türkiye, has shared further details of one of its latest Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) machines scheduled for delivery to the Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA), in São Luís, Brazil. This follows the announcement of the partnership earlier this year.

The machine was designed as a cell with user-friendly interfaces and systems, featuring robotic equipment, process equipment, sensors, cameras, a filtration system, as well as control, automation and safety units.
With in-house-developed software, users can plan the process, monitor and control real-time data from the sensors and cameras, which is intended to enable users to produce a part with ease. The machine also includes subsystems such as robotic arms and positioners that were developed in-house. MetalWorm designed, manufactured, and integrated the positioners in-house.

The dual-station setup enables the simultaneous production of multiple parts, enhancing throughput and system functionality.
