Ursa Major CEO outlines hypersonic Draper engine capabilities at UP.Summit

During his keynote at the UP.Summit, Daniel Jablonsky, Chairman and CEO of Ursa Major, highlighted the capabilities of its Draper engine, explaining that its design represents a complete shift in how the company thinks about hypersonic technology.
In his presentation, Jablonsky noted that two and a half years ago, the US Air Force contracted Ursa Major to develop Draper. Designed for tactical applications, Draper is optimised for performance and intended for rapid, cost-effective production. The Draper engine is said to deliver results for all domains that meet mission demands of the future and may help make advanced American-made hypersonics more accessible.
Jablonsky highlighted that because the Draper engine works both expo- and endo-atmospherically, it is also an ideal space-based interceptor or sustained space mobility platform. He shared that Ursa Major can currently build about one engine a week.
The Draper engine offers greater than Mach 5 speeds; medium-to-long range (600-800 nmi); uses hydrogen peroxide and kerosene; and starts at the push of a button.
Ursa Major currently has about 250 tests on the stand and is working to fly that before the end of the year with the Air Force.
