Ti-2019 abstract submissions deadline draws near
November 6, 2018
Abstract submissions for the Fourteenth World Conference on Titanium (Ti-2019) will close on November 16, 2018. Set to take place in Nantes, France, June 10-14, 2019, the event is held every four years with the purpose of bringing together the global titanium community to present and discuss progress in titanium science and technology.
Ti-2019 will be supported by the French Titanium Association, the French Society for Metallurgy and Materials (SF2M) and is endorsed by the Region Pays de Loire and Nantes city council. The conference will be chaired by Patrick Villechaise, Director Of Research at the CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research) and member of SF2M and the French Titanium Association. Villechaise previously served as the French representative on the organising committee of the Ti-2015 in San Diego, California, USA.
Ti-2019 is expected to offer the latest news on titanium and its alloys. With application fields becoming wider and representing important technologic, economic and societal challenges, the organisers state that the industry has “a bright future ahead,” and that Ti-2019 offers the ideal opportunity to discuss and define the future opportunities available.
The conference organisers are currently inviting the submission of abstracts for poster and oral presentations on the following themes:
- Extraction and powder production
- Melting and casting
- Wrought processing and fabrication
- Additive and near net shape manufacturing
- Microstructure – properties relationships
- Microstructure evolution
- Intermetallics and MMCs
- Environmental behaviour
- Aerospace applications
- Biomedical and healthcare applications
