The Aerospace Materials Research Institute is a state-owned enterprise established by the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry and the 306th Institute with the approval of the Ministry of Finance and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. The organisation focusses on topics such as advanced ceramic materials, metal and plastic moulding, heat insulation and temperature control materials.

The signing of the cooperation agreement is seen as the starting point for a deeper, more comprehensive, and closer cooperation between the institute and Jiangxi Yuean Advanced Materials. Together, they will study the use of new materials for applications such as electromagnetic shielding, wave-absorbing stealth and high-performance fibres.
