The Grenzebach Group, headquartered in Hamlar, Germany, has received an order from EOS GmbH, headquartered in Krailling, Germany, for 155 Grenzebach Dual Setup Stations. EOS placed initial orders for forty Grenzebach stations before and during Formnext 2025. Following the launch of the EOS M4 ONYX metal Additive Manufacturing machine, the order volume increased by a further 115 units. The company said it expects additional demand throughout the year.

The Grenzebach Dual Setup Station – EOS Edition reportedly enables parallel preparation of build jobs during manufacturing and fast, automated exchange of build cylinders. This allows job changeovers in less than 30 minutes, reducing machine downtime and enabling cost-efficient 24/7 serial production, states the company.

The Grenzebach Dual Setup Station was further developed specifically to complement the EOS M4 ONYX. The adaptations include the build cylinder design, handling processes, ergonomics, and automation logic. The external appearance was also adapted to match the dark design concept of the EOS M4 ONYX.

The order builds on a strategic partnership that has continuously evolved since 2016. A key milestone was the NextGenAM project launched in 2017, within which Grenzebach states it fully automated serial processes for metal components were implemented for the first time. In the years that followed, the collaboration was further expanded, including the transfer of automation concepts to polymer processes and joint development work within the POLYLINE research project.

At the same time, the order represents a milestone for the newly established Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH. As of January 1, 2026, the Additive Manufacturing business unit has been managed as an independent company within the Grenzebach Group. Dimitrios Livadas assumed management of the new entity on April 1.

The spin-off aims to bundle technological expertise and further increase responsiveness in the rapidly growing AM market. In particular, the automation and scaling of industrial AM processes are gaining increasing strategic importance.
