Freemelt-Americas joins Georgia Tech Manufacturing 4.0 Consortium

Freemelt-Americas, Inc, a subsidiary of Freemelt, headquartered in Mölndal, Sweden, has signed a Membership Agreement with the Georgia Tech Manufacturing 4.0 Consortium, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The consortium looks to drive the development of innovative manufacturing technologies and accelerate the adoption of Additive Manufacturing in North America.

The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) has extensive experience in the research of advanced and Additive Manufacturing technologies supported by the US government, industry, and the education system. Georgia Tech facilitates a wide range of AM technologies and has utilised a Freemelt ONE 6 kW Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) AM machine since 2022.

Georgia Tech Manufacturing 4.0 Consortium is a membership-based consortium that brings together industry, academia, and government to develop and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies, to foster innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of the American industry.

“We are honoured to be new members of Georgia Tech Manufacturing 4.0 Consortium, where members and experts with diverse backgrounds collaborate to solve key manufacturing challenges in the United States,” Regional President of Freemelt-Americas Inc., Darin Everett commented. “Members collaborate to identify barriers, discuss possible solutions, and evaluate plans to facilitate the transition and adoption of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, including Additive Manufacturing. Through this membership, Freemelt will be exposed to new business opportunities in our focus industries of defence, energy and med tech.
