Centorr names Murphy as new Product Manager of Laboratory and R&D furnaces

Centorr Vacuum Industries, headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire, USA, has named Sean Patrick Murphy as its Product Manager for Laboratory and R&D Furnaces.

In this role, Murphy will be responsible for over thirty different vacuum furnace product lines used in laboratory settings for the metal, ceramics and carbon/graphite/composites industries. His customer base will include national laboratories, universities and global clients looking to adopt smaller lab and R&D equipment.

Murphy was previously with Osram Sylania’s Exeter, New Hampshire, location and was a Senior Manufacturing Manager responsible for micro-LED ceramic automotive products. He has experience with hydrogen sintering, spark plasma sintering, annealing, and a variety of manufacturing operations.

He has a Bachelors of Science in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and is an active member of the American Ceramic Society, ASM Heat Treat Society, and the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Founded in 1954, Centorr Vacuum Industries is now in its 70th year as a high-temperature vacuum and controlled-atmosphere furnace manufacturer with an installed base of over 7,000 units worldwide. The company features a fully staffed Aftermarket Field Service group and Applied Technology Center, offering R&D support and toll production service.
