Bastech expands in-house metal Additive Manufacturing capability

Bastech, based in Dayton, Ohio, USA, has announced the expansion of its in-house metal Additive Manufacturing capabilities with the addition of 3D System’s ProX 200™ Direct Metal Printer. Bastech offers a range of Additive Manufacturing services, from prototyping and manufacturing to equipment sales.

The ProX 200 from 3D Systems offers a build volume of 140mm x 140mm x 100mm height. It features semi-automated material loading and supports a range of materials including maraging steel 1.2709, stainless steel 17-4PH, titanium Ti6Al4V, aluminium alloy AlSi12 as well as ceramics.

The system delivers accuracy compatible with EN ISO 2768 (fine) machining tolerances and a repeatability of about 20 microns in all three axes. The ProX line is suited to a variety of industries including custom dental prostheses, orthopaedic implants, watch manufacturing and aerospace components. In addition, these systems are used for direct creation of conformal tooling, tooling insert and blow mould production.
