Freemelt announces $15.5 million rights issue to expand metal AM production

Freemelt Holding AB, headquartered in Göteborg, Sweden, has announced a fully guaranteed rights issue of approximately SEK 152 million ($15.5 million), subject to shareholder approval.
The net proceeds from the rights issue will be used to accelerate the scale-up of Freemelt’s Manufacturing and Production Systems business areas, including capacity expansion, customer project execution, financing of working capital and the development of a more scalable base of recurring revenue.

The company, a specialist in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) Additive Manufacturing, recently established Manufacturing as a new business area alongside Production Systems, expanding its activities beyond machine supply into the production of qualified metal components.
Freemelt has also secured manufacturing orders from Fusion for Energy (F4E) and the European Spallation Source (ESS), with a combined initial value of approximately $8.5 million (SEK 83 million). The company plans to expand manufacturing capacity through a combination of existing infrastructure, selective investments linked to customer requirements and strategic partnerships.

Freemelt has received subscription commitments from external investors and existing shareholders. The rights issue is fully covered by a combination of subscription commitments, intentions to subscribe and underwriting commitments.
Freemelt expects the rights issue to provide funding through to positive cash flow in 2029. Shareholder approval is still required at an extraordinary general meeting on 20 November 2026.
