Farsoon Europe GmbH, based in Sindelfingen, Germany, has collaborated with Apollo Automobil GmbH, headquartered in Gaimersheim, on the development and production of the titanium exhaust pipes and exhaust tips for the Apollo Evo.

The project is claimed to be one of the largest Additively Manufactured titanium exhaust systems developed for a road-going vehicle, with Farsoon providing its Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) expertise and industrial production capabilities.

The titanium exhaust pipes and exhaust tips were manufactured on a Farsoon FS811M-6 Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machine using TA15 (Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-Mo-V) titanium alloy.

Farsoon also applied its Beam Shaping technology to manufacture the enclosed exhaust geometry, enabling the exhaust pipes to be produced in one piece. Without internal support structures, it allowed complete pipe geometries to be manufactured instead of welding together multiple separately produced sections.

The project ultimately resulted in the production of the titanium exhaust pipes and exhaust tips for all ten Apollo Evo vehicles, with the first customer vehicle, Apollo Evo ‘Caribbean Dragon’, officially unveiled at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The project’s Dragon Skin surface on the exhaust pipe was developed jointly by Apollo and Farsoon specifically for Additive Manufacturing. The structure is generated directly during the build process rather than being applied in a secondary manufacturing step. According to Apollo, the surface also contributes to improved heat distribution.

Additive Manufacturing was used to evaluate multiple support-free design concepts in parallel and produce samples for milling tests and various surface treatments.

“Projects like this demonstrate that truly groundbreaking products can only be developed and successfully scaled when customers, designers, and manufacturing experts collaborate closely from day one – always keeping industrial feasibility and economic viability in focus. We don’t just sell machines – we help customers succeed with Additive Manufacturing,” stated Sonja Rasch**,** Strategic Sales and Business Development at Farsoon Europe GmbH. “As a long-term technology partner, we work together to discover the right applications, explore innovative design approaches, and minimise risk through proven development methods. Real serial production success stories provide the confidence to move from concept to industrial implementation.”

Nuclear Fusion’s Manufacturing Challenge Where Metal Additive Manufacturing Can Make The Difference

“Working closely with Farsoon gave us the confidence to take on such a remarkable project while meeting all technical requirements and delivering an exceptional product. The exhaust system successfully passed extensive functionality, durability, thermal and on-track testing, proving it is fully production-ready for our customers who expect uncompromising performance, craftsmanship and exclusivity,” added Marko Konta, Chief Product Officer, Apollo Automobil GmbH.
