America Makes to host Additive Manufacturing qualification workshop

America Makes, Youngstown, Ohio, USA, will host the “From Years to Months: Rethinking AM Qualification Through Part Families” workshop, co-organised by the Joint Additive Manufacturing Working Group (JAMWG) on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00 ET.

This workshop, set to take place at its headquarters in Youngstown, represents an opportunity to shape a multi‑million‑dollar FY27 project call focused on developing a part‑family-based Additive Manufacturing qualification approach. Insights from the workshop will help shape future investments aligned with Department of Defense (DoD) platform needs across land, air, sea, and space.

The workshop will include:
- Welcome and objectives (America Makes & JAMWG leadership)
- Government and industry perspectives on current metal AM qualification
- Large group discussion on part-family qualification challenges and gaps
- Breakout sessions focused on priorities, barriers, and funding needs
- Briefings and synthesis of key findings
- Drafting of FY27 investment and SOW priorities
