Westinghouse to evaluate powder from Metal Powder Works for the Additive Manufacturing of nuclear components

Metal Powder Works (MPW), headquartered in Pittsburgh, USA, has signed a contract with Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA, to supply metal powders for Westinghouse to evaluate for the Additive Manufacturing of components for the nuclear sector.
“This contract with Westinghouse marks a significant milestone for Metal Powder Works,” stated John Barnes, MPW Managing Director. “The nuclear sector places some of the most stringent demands on material quality, and reflects the precision and reliability of our DirectPowder™ process.”

The Westinghouse contract builds on the company’s continued engagement with several major industrial and government partners in the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors.
