Titomic enhances CTME’s research with advanced Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing
April 16, 2024
Titomic Limited, based in Brisbane, Australia, has an order for multiple cold spray Additive Manufacturing machines from the Fundación Centro Tecnológico Miranda de Ebro (CTME), a technology centre and engineering solutions provider based in Spain. The order, totalling approximately €300,000 (AUS $495,000) includes Titomic’s D623 medium-pressure and D523 low-pressure cold spray machines, alongside a powder feeder and an integrated spray booth.
CTME specialises in researching, developing, and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies for vital sectors like aerospace, defence, and automotive. The new cold spray equipment is expected to boost CTME’s research and production technologies. They enable the application of metals and alloys at lower temperatures and open new avenues for research and knowledge transfer to its manufacturing clients.
Juan José García Ruiz, Director of CTME, commented, “The integration of Titomic’s advanced cold spray technology into our operations significantly enhances our capabilities. It aligns perfectly with our mission to continually seek out and implement the latest technologies to offer our clients the most innovative solutions.”
This collaboration is part of CTME’s participation in the SUFERA-PLUS project. It is financed by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development through the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. CTME has been awarded a grant for Excellence Technological Centres for this project.
Herbert Koeck, Managing Director of Titomic, shared, “This transaction with CTME is a testament to the demand for Titomic’s cutting-edge cold spray technology in the global market. By equipping CTME with Titomic’s advanced systems, we are enabling CTME to remain at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, offering their clients unparalleled quality and efficiency.”
The sale to CTME follows a sale earlier in the month to the Royal Netherlands Army (Koninklijke Landmacht) of ten D523 machines, nine of which are earmarked for supply by the Dutch army to Ukraine, aiding the war efforts.
