Nikon AM Synergy Inc., based in Long Beach, California, USA, has appointed Jesse Lea as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2025. Lea will succeed David McKee, who announced he will retire at the end of July. Nikon AM Synergy is the engineering and services division of Nikon Advanced Manufacturing (Nikon AM).

“I would like to welcome Jesse Lea to Nikon AM Synergy and the Nikon AM team,” stated Hamid Zarringhalam, Nikon AM CEO. “Jesse will add significant value in supporting Nikon’s holistic value proposition in industrial scaling using advanced manufacturing. I would also like to thank David McKee for his contributions over the years through his various leadership roles.”

This announcement comes at a pivotal time as the US strengthens its domestic industrial base in support of national security.

Major General Brett Williams (Retired USAF), Chairman of the Board of Nikon AM Synergy commented, “The United States is focused on addressing critical gaps in the Defense Industrial Base, which are key to national security and global order. Advanced manufacturing plays a key role in all branches of defence, and Jesse will develop and solidify Nikon AM Synergy operations to fully support its clients and partners to achieve their mission-critical goals.”

Lea has more than three decades of experience across the manufacturing ecosystem, including previous founder, President, and CEO leadership positions. During his tenure at Uptive, GoProto, and 3D Systems Corporation/Rapid Product Development Group, Lea’s responsibilities encompassed new company start-up, establishing and managing sales operations, manufacturing and sales operations creation, regulations compliance, multi-industry sales programmes, business development, marketing, profit and loss management, and metrics-based operations.

Jesse Lea shared, “Building on the tremendous efforts and accomplishments of the Nikon AM Synergy and Nikon Advanced Manufacturing team, we are well-positioned to capture the critical opportunity that domestic Additive Manufacturing represents in the marketplace to address the needs of our defence and commercial customer base. I am honoured to have the chance to work with this talented group utilising cutting-edge Nikon technology to drive advanced manufacturing forward.”
