Markforged partners with ICT to produce additively manufactured parts for US government

Markforged, Watertown, Massachusetts, USA, has entered into a partnership with not-for-profit strategic investment firm In-Q-Tel, Inc. (IQT), to enable the US government to leverage Markforged’s industrial Additive Manufacturing platforms for metal and continuous carbon fibre parts. IQT identifies and accelerates the development and delivery of cutting-edge technologies to support US government agencies.
Branches of the US military already have hundreds of Markforged machines in operation today. The company explains that it implemented its first forward-deployed metal system to support combat operations, and has now expanded its support operations to three continents, with the US militaryy using metal and carbon fibre AM machines for a variety of use cases globally, such as machinery repair, tool creation and field operations.
