Markforged achieves ISO 27001 certification

February 19, 2020

Markforged, Watertown, Massachusetts, USA, has achieved ISO 27001 certification. The certification demonstrates that it has met rigorous international standards in ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the entire Markforged ecosystem, which includes its Eiger cloud AM platform, Additive Manufacturing hardware, fleet management software and information governance policies.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is an Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard published in October 2013 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). According to Markforged, it is the only AM platform to have achieved this certification.

The company explains that its cloud-first software strategy is enabling competitive enterprises around the world to quickly adopt Additive Manufacturing across a broadening set of applications and use cases, from production assembly to defence, military, and aerospace. With ISO 27001 certification,  customers across the spectrum of information security requirements, involving highly sensitive data, are expected to be able to leverage Eiger and the Markforged ecosystem with confidence.

“We believe that every product and engineering decision we make has a security component to it, and our customers and their data are at the centre,” commented David Benhaim, CTO, CISO, Markforged. “We are setting the standard for Additive Manufacturing, and our strategic investment in maintaining a robust security program and completion of this internationally recognised certification process demonstrates our steadfast commitment to security and the protection of our customers’ data.”
