Innospace has announced that its Sejong, South Korea, headquarters and launch vehicle assembly and manufacturing facilities – Cheongju Campus and Sejong Campus – have simultaneously obtained ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.

The dual certification verifies the company’s efforts to strengthen its environmental, safety, and health management systems to global standards. According to Innospace, the certification also confirms that the company secured the essential foundation required for the sustainable operation of space launch services.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Innospace added metal Additive Manufacturing to transform the production of its launch vehicle components. The company established an advanced in-house manufacturing facility equipped with Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machines from China’s Eplus3D.

ISO 14001 establishes international criteria for managing environmental impacts across business operations. ISO 45001 provides a framework for identifying and controlling occupational health and safety risks and preventing workplace incidents.

Innospace has implemented a proactive management framework throughout the entire lifecycle of its launch vehicle development, encompassing R&D, manufacturing, testing, and operations. Key enhancements include advanced analysis and management of environmental impact factors, safety risk–based improvement activities, strengthened equipment and operational standards to minimise hazards, and enhanced emergency response procedures.

“The satellite launch service industry that relies on launch vehicles is one in which safety and environmental responsibility are critical factors that define a company’s competitiveness and long-term sustainability. These certifications demonstrate that Innospace operates with a management system that meets international standards, and we will continue to strengthen ESG-driven responsible management across all processes, from space technology development to service delivery,” stated Soojong Kim, founder and CEO of Innospace.

Innospace also received AS9100 certification, the internationally recognised quality management standard for the aerospace, space, and defence sectors, as well as ISO 37301 certification for its compliance management system.
