Farsoon Technologies, based in Changsha, China, has expanded its range of medium-sized metal Additive Manufacturing machines with the launch of the FS350M-4 Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machine. With a build envelope of 433 x 358 x 400 mm, the new machine comes with a quad 500 watt laser configuration as standard.

The FS350M-4 is reported to be suited for medium- to high-volume series production of metal parts across various industries, such as moulds, tooling, automotive, and aerospace. Currently, the machine can process aluminium, titanium, maraging steels, and specialised grades of stainless steels.

The FS350M-4 is equipped with advanced multi-laser scanning strategies and calibration algorithms, enabling optimal build efficiency and uniform part performance throughout the build area. It also features an efficient inert gas system, with a purge process that takes only eleven minutes. During the manufacturing process, the system consumes around 3-5 l/min of inert gas, reported to be significantly lower than the industry average.

The FS350M-4 comes with an integrated, advanced three-stage filter module. It features a powerful back-flush function in an effort to ensure longer filter life. The company has stated that a permanent filter solution will be available in the near future, further enhancing machine uptime and ease of operation.

A high-efficiency top-feed powder system. senses when the level of powder in the container runs low, releasing a message to refill the container. The powder refill unit can be easily docked, enabling quick refill of the material without interrupting the build process.

The FS350M-4 is now available to order as part of an early adopter programme.
