Caracol to showcase AI-enhanced Eidos and real-world demos at Formnext 2025

Caracol, headquartered in Barlassina, Italy, has announced that it will present updates to its Eidos Manufacturing software suite, intended to target increased adoption of robotic AM, at Formnext 2025.

The latest software suite features, developed for Caracol’s robotic Directed Energy Deposition (DED) AM machines in collaboration with outside software and AI companies, integrate new manufacturing processes, AI, and advanced sensing in an effort to enable smarter and more autonomous production. Eidos Builder combines Caracol’s advanced slicing, simulation, and Additive Manufacturing capabilities with other processes such as scanning and milling in fully automated workflows. Eidos Nexus, the IoT and control brain of the platforms, is now powered with AI Control, adding intelligent features to introduce sensing, learning, and smart control.

Visitors will be able to explore the Eidos software experience, see Caracol’s robotic Heron and Vipra Additive Manufacturing machines, and touch large-scale parts applications made by companies such as Alstom, NP Aerospace and UK Digital Manufacturing Center, JOME, and CPC Group, which cover a range of sectors.
Caracol will also present what it has called the world’s first additively manufactured catamaran, created with V2 Boats using its Heron AM machine through a continuous 120-hour build. This is intended to illustrate the scalability and reliability of robotic large-format Additive Manufacturing for full-scale, end-use composite structures in marine applications.
