Angelelli Automobili, based in Rome, Italy, recently showcased a number of additively manufactured elements of its prototype D1 hypercar. On show was Titanclaw, a brake calliper with integrated wheel hub, engineered and topologically optimised through the company’s proprietary Alien Mesh Design algorithm.

Additively manufactured in titanium, Titanclaw combines extreme lightness, structural rigidity, and an organic design unique in the automotive sector, states the company.

The D1’s chassis is developed through the same Alien Mesh Design algorithm as the Titanclaw. This system generates organically optimised topological structures, entirely additively manufactured in titanium, resulting in an interconnected network of elements that sets a new standard for lightness, rigidity, and mechanical precision.

The D1 also integrates the company’s exclusive Virtualmind – Design – 3D Modelling – Omnidirectional Technology, featuring 360° panoramic vision, predictive intelligence for track performance, and a fully active aerodynamic system composed of 24 mobile surfaces. These surfaces adapt in real time to driving conditions, generating maximum downforce only when needed, while maintaining a clean and fluid aerodynamic profile during normal driving.

Angelelli Automobili plans a limited production run of 25–30 units for the R version and another 20 for the RS version.
