Management consultancy Ampower, Hamburg, Germany, has launched its Ampower Academy homepage. This training was created in cooperation with AM entrepreneur Benjamin Haller, whose previous training platform was successfully adopted by several companies.

Ampower incorporated and optimised Haller’s earlier platform to launch four self-paced Additive Manufacturing courses: AM Fundamentals, Metal & Polymer Technologies and Part Identification. Each of the courses will contain videos summarising important aspects, interactive content, assessments, a pdf summarising the course’s main content and related material. Those who have completed a course will receive a certificate.

In the Metal Technologies course, students will learn about Laser and Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB and PBF-EB, respectively), Binder Jetting (BJT), Directed Energy Deposition (DED) and Material Extrusion (MEX) process Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), as well as how to choose the right technology for applications.

More courses are expected to follow, covering the entire process chain and all major metal and polymer AM technologies. Training resources about make or buy, sustainability and quality are also in development. The AM fundamentals course is available for free.

Ampower is at Formnext in Hall 12.0, D122.
