Norsk Titanium installs RPD machine at Airbus as Q3 revenue triples

Norsk Titanium AS, headquartered in Hønefoss, Norway, has reported revenue and other income of $2.1 million for the third quarter of 2026, up from $0.7 million in the same period last year. The company, which produces structural titanium components using its proprietary Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) Additive Manufacturing technology, also reported increased serial production deliveries and progress across its aerospace and defence programmes.
Of the quarterly total, $0.6 million came from serial production, $1.2 million from development programmes and services, and $0.3 million from other income. Revenue and other income for the first nine months of 2026 reached $5 million, compared with $2.8 million in the corresponding period of 2025.

Airbus installation and aerospace developments
Norsk Titanium’s first Merke IV RPD machine has been installed at Airbus in Varel, Germany, following completion of site acceptance testing in September. The installation forms part of a Cooperation and Research Agreement signed in June to validate RPD technology within Airbus’s manufacturing environment.
Under the agreement, Airbus will operate the machine at its facility, while Norsk Titanium retains control of the underlying process technology and qualification framework. The collaboration aims to establish broader process-level qualification, potentially simplifying the introduction of additional RPD components.
Serial production deliveries to Airbus also increased during the quarter, while Norsk Titanium continued supplying Boeing, Leonardo and other Tier 1 suppliers. Discussions are ongoing with Airbus regarding a third production order under the 2024 Master Supply Agreement.
In the aerospace engine sector, Norsk Titanium received a purchase order from Rolls-Royce for a titanium component being evaluated for potential use in existing civil aerospace engine programmes. The company has also been approved as a supplier for Rolls-Royce development activities.

Defence and industrial programmes
Norsk Titanium is in the process of securing a qualification order from a US defence prime contractor for structural titanium components intended for a high-rate missile defence programme. Subject to successful qualification, the company anticipates potential production revenue from 2027, with further growth possible in 2028.
The company also began work under a previously announced $4.2 million, 18-month development contract awarded through the US Defense Industrial Base Expansion, Development and Growth Enterprise (DIB-EDGE) initiative, supporting maritime and submarine applications.
Norsk Titanium has also been selected for the America Makes Joint Additive Qualification for Sustainment – Supplier Qualification (JAQS-SQ) project and is participating in a separate America Makes project focused on in-situ inspection and evaluation, led by Edison Welding Institute (EWI).
Outside aerospace and defence, Norsk Titanium continued deliveries of titanium carrier trays to Hittech under an existing purchase order valued at approximately $1.5 million, covering deliveries through the first quarter of 2027. Hittech has indicated that revenue for Norsk Titanium in 2027 could exceed the previous forecast of $2.8 million. The components are used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment for advanced lithography and AI-related applications.
Financial outlook
Norsk Titanium reported an average monthly cash burn of $2.2 million in the third quarter, compared with $2.4 million a year earlier. The company ended September with a cash balance of $27.2 million.
Full-year revenue and other income are expected to reach approximately $8 million, around double the 2025 level. Norsk Titanium is targeting breakeven in 2028 and an EBITDA margin of approximately 30% by 2030, based on utilisation of around 50% of its installed production capacity.
