Zenith Tecnica acquisition supports titanium AM expansion

Contract manufacturer Zenith Tecnica, based in Auckland, New Zealand, has been acquired by a new ownership group that plans to expand the company’s titanium Additive Manufacturing production capacity through the installation of two additional Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-EB) machines.

The acquisition, completed on June 18, 2026, brings together owners with backgrounds in aerospace manufacturing and industrial operations. The new owners state that the transaction is intended to support Zenith Tecnica’s next phase of growth following increasing customer demand.
Founded in 2014, the company specialises in titanium Additive Manufacturing and supplies components to the aerospace, medical and other high-performance engineering sectors. According to the company, demand from both existing and new customers has resulted in all available machine capacity being committed over the past year. The planned expansion is intended to increase production capacity and support future growth.
Heather Grace, the company’s outgoing owner, stated, “When I took ownership of Zenith after my tenure as General Manager, my goal was always to strengthen the business, continue to nurture and build our capable team, and ultimately transition it into the hands of owners who could drive its next stage of growth. I couldn’t be happier with where the company stands today and the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Grace will remain Interim General Manager until August 2026 to support the ownership transition before beginning her retirement.
Aerospace and medical programmes
Zenith Tecnica manufactures components for customers in the aerospace, orthopaedic, marine and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Through its partnership with Lanteris Space Systems, now part of Intuitive Machines, the company has produced structural components for a number of satellite programmes, including NASA’s Psyche mission and the Space Development Agency’s Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 Tracking Layer constellations.
In the medical sector, Zenith Tecnica manufactures patient-specific orthopaedic implants, surgical guides and medical instruments for domestic and international medical device companies. Manufactured in titanium using PBF-EB, these components are designed to address complex clinical requirements while enabling the production of complex geometries.
“The rapid expansion of demand we are seeing has only been possible after years of relationship building and developing the technical prowess to become a name that is trusted time and time again, no matter the industry,” Grace added. “For us, it’s not just about being the best at understanding the technology, but it’s about understanding the customer; their projects, their timeline, and what they need out of us as a manufacturing partner.”

Expansion plans
Incoming owners Andrew Burgess and Blair Jordan bring experience from aerospace manufacturing programmes, including work associated with Boeing and Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellite programme, together with operational experience in highly regulated food and dairy manufacturing.
The company’s immediate priorities include commissioning two additional PBF-EB machines and relocating to larger premises. According to Zenith Tecnica, the move will support the larger machine fleet and planned vertical integration activities.
Blair Jordan, incoming Managing Director, stated, “What we found at Zenith is rare. We’ve got a team that has earned trust across a mix of extremely highly regulated industries, all by positioning ourselves as an extension of our customers’ engineering and quality departments.”
“Looking ahead, our goal is simple: focusing on scaling alongside our customers in a way that stays true to how we operate. That means continuing to invest in the capability behind the business, whether that is equipment, people or floor space, so we can grow capacity without losing the speed and flexibility that our reputation has been built on.”
