3DEO, Los Angeles, California, USA, has won the TCT Consumer Product Application Award for the “Era”, an additively manufactured production zero-waste safety razor produced for Blackland Razors at the TCT Awards.

The Era razor is made from 17-4 and 303 stainless steel parts – handle, base plates, stand – produced by Additive Manufacturing and finished with CNC machining. The handle can be attached to any of the ten base plates, with selections based on skin sensitivity and the amount of growth to be shaved. The configuration of the base plates is said to eliminate blade flex and in-use clogging.

“It’s an honour to have been selected as the 2022 Consumer Product winner, surrounded by our fellow 3D printing leaders this year,” said Matt Sand, president and co-founder of 3DEO. “While we are immersed in the innovative capabilities that 3D printing brings to the manufacturing space, we are starting to see a ‘tipping point’ of adoption, and The TCT Group is leading the charge by showcasing best-in-industry wins.”

3DEO serves customers in the consumer products, industrial machinery & equipment, medical devices, surgical robotics, aerospace and defence industries.
